Cornerstone Church started in Yuba City in 1955. Located at the corner of Clark and Washington Avenue, we have a full range of ministries to children, youth and adults. Pastor Jim Anderson is the Lead Pastor with Pastor Rick Finitzer serving as Executive Pastor. Cornerstone Church of Yuba City is part of the Evangelical Free Church of America.
Our Worship Services are on Sundays at 8:30 and 11:00 am. At 9:45 am we offer Adult Bible Fellowships along with Children and Youth Bible Classes. The Worship is contemporary and music is under the direction of Amy Smith.
Shawna Craft is the Director of the Cornerstone Kids Ministry. In addition to the Sunday Bible Classes, Cornerstone offers an A.W.A.N.A (A Workman And Not Ashamed) Children's program midweek on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Special activities are also planned for 5th and 6th graders as part of "Club 56".
Cornerstone Youth (Junior and Senior High students) meet at 6:30 pm on Sunday evenings in the Worship Center under the direction of Pastor Brad Thompson.
"Refresh" is a group for the young adults, ages 18-30. Meeting on Monday evenings at 7 pm in the Worship Center, Refresh is a vibrant group with learning and social activities planned throughout the year.
Cornerstone Women is a ministry for all women. Under the direction of Judy Tomm, Cornerstone Women is a very active ministry. On Tuesday mornings throughout the school year, "Titus 2" meets in the Ministry Center at 9 am, where a variety of classes are offered for women to grow in their relationships with Jesus Christ and with one another. A PM Titus 2 group meets on Wednesday nights in the Ministry Center. Cornerstone Women also offers "Friendship Coffees" once a month in various locations. "Keepers of the Home" is a ministry for women who want to develop homemaking skills. For women in the retirement years, Senior Sisters meet on the second Friday throughout the school year. This is a time of fellowship, refreshment and a study in God's Word. Four times a year, Cornerstone Women meet for "WOW" Events. WOW stands for Wonderful Opportunities for Women and presents areas of ministry where women can grow higher, stronger, deeper and farther in their relationship to God and to one another, in service to the church, the community and beyond. Special events are also planned throughout the year for the women at Cornerstone and more.
Cornerstone Men is a ministry for all men. Under the leadership of Steve Alpha and Jim Taylor, Cornerstone Men is also an active ministry. On Tuesday and Saturday mornings, groups of men meet to study God's Word and to encourage one another. Cornerstone Men plan quarterly breakfasts which feature a guest speaker. Cornerstone Men sponsor the "work days" where special projects are taken on around the Church campus. Cornerstone Men also plan special events in the community and around the State.
